Why Choose A Woman’s Healing Center?

Whether you’re pregnant with your first child or have had many years of experience with childbearing, being pregnant is a very special time, and all of us at A Woman’s Healing Center are focused on making your pregnancy a positive experience for you and your family. We welcome families of all sizes and types in our Fort Collins OB practice and will work with you to have the birth plan you want. Watch the video below to learn more about our approach to prenatal care and birth from Dr. Skorberg, one of our two obstetricians.

Fort Collins Prenatal Care

Prenatal care begins in the early first trimester. Prenatal visits allow us to closely monitor your health and your baby’s progress. These regular checkups are also your chance to learn how to manage the discomforts of pregnancy, have any testing you may need, and ask any questions you may have.

We welcome and encourage your partner to attend visits with you, and are just as happy to have siblings and grandparents come as well.  There’s nothing more exciting than watching a room full of family members hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time! Labor and Delivery at Poudre Valley Hospital

Because our practice is independently owned and operated, we’re able to develop quality relationships with our patients and devote the time and resources needed to deliver the best prenatal medical care and ensure a positive labor and birth experience.  Our female doctors are all board-certified obstetricians – we are capable of supporting you through your pregnancy and birth whether it is blissfully uncomplicated or if you or your baby would benefit from additional support and intervention. We also offer midwifery care options

We operate and deliver only at the Birthing Center at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.  The hospital offers high-risk obstetric care, as its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is one of the best in the nation and the only one between Denver and Billings, Montana. That means that if your baby is in need of more intensive care, he or she can stay with you to receive that care and not have to be flown to a different hospital.

Poudre Valley Hospital is also designated as a Baby-Friendly hospital. These hospitals have created the best possible environment for mothers to successfully breastfeed their babies and follow the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding as set forth by the Baby-Friendly Initiative.  To learn more about Labor & Delivery at A Woman’s Healing Center, click here.
